Codenvy inside Red Hat

In May 2017 Red Hat acquired Codenvy. Red Hat’s commitment to open source was a big part of why this acquisition happened, and as part of Red Hat we are committed to expanding Eclipse Che to include many of the features previously found only in Codenvy Enterprise. Eclipse Che will replace Codenvy on-premises.

Codenvy on-premises customers with paid subscriptions will continue to be supported by Red Hat. Similarly there will be no changes to the running and support of the codenvy.io site.

However, Red Hat is not currently selling Codenvy on-premises subscriptions and is not supportive of the Fair Source License model. Eclipse Che with an Eclipse Public License is the preferred go-forward solution.
